Membership: Building Your Business by Building Your Community: The diversity of membership provides an endless source of knowledge when it comes to the strategic direction. The MCBIA staff and Board of Directors are dedicated to creating an atmosphere in order for members to build business and be involved in a larger effort to build the community.
Improve the MCBIA Business Environment: The MCBIA hasreinvested in the processes of our business. Building relationships and working in partnership with the local and state government are key for Members in order to form a favorable business climate. This forward-thinking strategic direction encompasses the wide range of businesses we represent and grows our membership base so that we can accomplish the following action items:
1. Focus on grassroots advocacy efforts: Residential and Commercial construction needs to remain a priority in the public policy arena. With our population growing, planning for future growth is a top priority and we are going to continue to advocate for our business community.
2. Connect our Members through networking events: Focus will be placed on meetings and events that meet relationship building and educational needs of members.
3. Build, sustain, and grow business to aid Members and the community: Several years ago, the MCBIA diversified its business portfolio and invested in property and management of that property; however, we are re-focusing that area of business and have decided to divest all real estate assets in an effort to assist our Members and the community in the best way possible.
Francine Johannesen, CEO and Master of Ceremony for the reception stated, “The MCBIA leadership believes in the future of Marion County’s business climate. Our volunteers are dedicated to working proactively, providing different options for solutions, and providing information to make informed decisions for today and the future of our community.
